Lead Teacher - 2 year old class

Summary We are a non-profit Christian organization with the mission of nurturing families through educational, financial and spiritual support. Our mission to be early childhood specialists who advocate for the healthy development of children and families. A strong candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, is passionate about working with children, has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to communicate effectively with both children and adults. Duties Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Caring for a group of children in cooperation with the classroom team Conforming to State and County regulations in regards to food nutrition and preparation Ensuring that children are both physically and emotionally safe at all times Maintain a clean, organized and safe classroom General cleaning duties throughout the day Assist as needed with lesson planning and implementation of lessons Keep records both electronically and on paper throughout the day as required Positively reinforcing the discipline plan as set by the Center and Lead Teacher Provide supervision during nap time Diaper changing and toilet training as necessitated by the children in the classroom Communicate accurately with families and other staff members Model appropriate behavior and Christian values at all times. Requirements Education Requirement: Must have a HS Diploma or GED, prefer some college coursework or an Associates Degree Experience : Must have experience working either in a NC Licensed Child Care Facility or in a group setting with toddlers Prerequisites (additional information available by contacting us): Must be willing to obtain a North Carolina Child Care Qualification Letter which includes successfully obtaining a background check through DCDEE Must pass a TB screening or test Must have 2 forms of valid identification Must have a physical within 60 days of employment Must complete CPR/First Aid within 3 months of hire Must be willing and able to work toward a Early Educator Certificate through the NC Community College system Must be able to lift children up to 50 lbs. in weight. Must be able to perform light physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and fine finger dexterity About Us COSKids is a Christian Child Development Campus located in downtown Matthews, NC. We have child care, preschool and after school programs that serve over 150 families each day.
