Summary: We are looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to join our JBLM, Washington team. The Fire Alarm Technician works under the supervision of the Project Manager as a field representative on various inspections, testing, and maintenance of low voltage fire alarm systems on JBLM. Job Duties and Functions: * Identify and reports any deviations of established fire/mass notification requirements. * Test communications, alarm equipment, and backup systems to ensure serviceability. * Work various shifts as assigned by supervisor including days, evenings, swing shift, graveyard, weekends, holidays. * Respond to fire/mass notification system service calls and routine system maintenance calls. * Inspect fire alarm systems and their components * Evaluate condition, identifying necessary repairs, and recommend preventive maintenance. * Request equipment/supplies in order to maintain inventory and ensure availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair. * Perform system modifications as necessary. * Conduct testing and inspect systems. * Respond and carry out to completion any troubleshooting and repairs. * Must be able to identify code and non-conformance issues. * Make recommendations regarding both systems installations and service contract facilities. * Report daily on activities completed, deferred, requiring further action or material. * Maintain compliance with established departmental policies and government regulations and directives. * Must obtain OSHA 30 Certificate * Must obtain First Aid and CPR Card * Provide customer service and care as required in a professional manner. * Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality at all times. * May be asked to travel. * Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. * This position may require more than 40 hours per week, some weekends, and may require on-call work. Experience and Skills: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Maintenance/testing background. * Fire systems experience. * Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office). * Good communication skills to interface with customers. * Able to call and schedule appointments, follow instructions and code requirements. * Perform follow-up to ensure the client is ready for inspection. * Attention to detail. * Ability to work autonomously. * Ability to work well with others and come to work with a positive attitude. * Must have a valid driver's license and proof of minimum liability insurance. * Able to pass Evergreen's standard of a clean driving record * Able to attain top secret security clearance depending on shift * Able to pass a pre-employment and continuing random background, federal-class drug and MVR screenings Preferred: * 3 years of verifiable related work experience. * Strong maintenance/testing experience. * Current Secret Level or higher security clearance. * Water based NICET II or higher certification. * Experience on the following: Monaco, Honeywell, EBI, FS90, Notifier and/or major fire alarm systems. * Prior experience working on government contracts or military bases preferred.
