Dorchester County Public Schools invites applications for the following position: School Social Worker Pool School Year: 2024-2025 Location: Central Office Job Description: Dorchester County Public Schools is currently accepting applications for potential School Social Workers vacancies for the school year 2024 -2025. Working under the direction of the school principal and the supervisor for mental health services, this position works with students in decision-making, interpersonal development, and academic growth by providing the strategies, resources, and instruction to enable each student to meet the demands of the Maryland College and Career Readiness Standards. Social Workers support student success in school by providing direct clinical case management services to students and their families; developing and managing the school-based mental health partnerships; and providing consultative services to DCPS staff and parents. Qualifications: Eligible for and hold, before appointment, the Maryland State Department of Education Certification for School Social Worker under COMAR 13A.12.03.11 (Graduate social worker; Certified social worker; or Certified social worker clinical); Masters Degree in Social Work; Three (3) years experience as a Social Worker, preferred; Demonstrated effective and accurate written and oral communication skills; Advanced familiarity with various computer applications and software is essential; Understanding of professional ethics and behavior; Self-directed and have the ability to develop and implement programs.
