As a Post Harvest Manager in the cannabis industry, your primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the post-harvest processes, including trimming, drying, curing, and quality control, to ensure the efficient processing of cannabis plants after harvest. Your role is essential to maintain product quality, consistency, and compliance with industry regulations. Job Responsibilities : Lead and manage a team of post-harvest staff, including trimmers, processors, and quality control personnel. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and high-quality production. Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures to ensure the consistency, appearance, and quality of processed cannabis products. Conduct regular inspections and address any discrepancies or issues promptly. Oversee the trimming and processing of harvested cannabis plants to meet product quality standards. Ensure that team members follow established procedures for trimming and processing. Manage the drying and curing processes to optimize product aroma, flavor, and texture. Monitor humidity and temperature levels to ensure proper curing. Maintain accurate records of harvested and processed cannabis products. Track and report inventory levels, product yields, and waste. Ensure strict adherence to state and local regulations governing post-harvest operations in the cannabis industry. Participate in regulatory audits and inspections, providing necessary documentation. Oversee equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed to ensure proper functionality. Manage the scheduling and maintenance of post-harvest equipment. Analyze data related to post-harvest operations to identify trends, productivity improvements, and potential discrepancies. Generate reports on post-harvest activities, yields, and inventory levels. Collaborate with other departments, including cultivation, compliance, and distribution, to optimize post-harvest processes. Ensure timely product delivery and assist in fulfilling orders. Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Several years of experience in post-harvest or processing roles in the cannabis industry, with a strong background in post-harvest operations. Strong knowledge of cannabis industry regulations, particularly those regarding post-harvest processes and quality control. Leadership and team management skills, with a focus on productivity and quality. Excellent attention to detail and quality standards. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and work both independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds if relevant to job duties listed above. Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the workday. Must be capable of working in front of a computer for extended periods of time based on job duties listed above. Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables.
