Description:

The Garrett Group is looking for a Global Economic Subject Matter Expert (SME) with at least a bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business administration or equivalent, including successful completion of macro and micro economic, and international finance course work. Must have at least 3 years of experience working in the field of economics in the public and/or private sector. Prior experience in economic education, Combatant Command/MACOM and/or non- DoD federal or state government agencies such as Department of the Treasury, Department of State, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, etc. is highly desirable. Duties include: Conduct analysis and advise on methodology to assess impact of operations, risk analysis, actions, and activities on the environment, executing and analyzing scans of global environment using all sources of intelligence. Provide general, campaign, mission-area focused and strategic assessments identifying, collecting, and performing document reviews of relevant data to identify items of strategic assessment interest, producing reports and briefings to align findings with analysis efforts and assessment results. Conducting, collecting, and analyzing intelligence data to develop situational awareness, performing assessments and providing economic support for global economic analysis for all advisory teams attending operational planning working groups to facilitate activities and participation within data calls. Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and capability gaps and identify factors leading to progression toward/regression from campaign objectives. Identification of military and strategic risks, vulnerabilities and participates and articulates equities in various Assessment Cell communities of interest (COI) and HQ boards, working groups and measures of effectiveness. Operational support of Joint Staff and OSD Strategic Assessment requirements and support staff during Command Exercises: provides analysis, perspective, and assessments on behalf of US Strategic Command. Intense data collection efforts and in-depth analysis using both qualitative and quantitative techniques, SharePoint, and visualization tools. Effectively builds relationships across the Command and with counterparts at Combatant Commands, Services, and other government agencies to support information gathering and coordination for strategic assessment efforts. Develops information papers, reports, and briefings in support of strategic assessments, ensuring findings align with other ongoing assessment/analysis efforts and adjudicating conflicts that arise.
