CMA/LPN/RN Position is for the Urgent Care & Acute Clinic locations Grand River Medical Group is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality care to our patients in a fast-paced patient care setting. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to rooming patients, phlebotomy, injections, and other tasks required to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. $4,000 sign-on bonus! The ideal candidate would possess robust nursing skills and the ability to work efficiently with little supervision. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have strong organizational skills. You will also need to be a team player and work closely with the receptionist, clinicians, and all other members of the care team. This is a full-time position, 36-40 hours per week. This position has a rotating schedule, with evening and weekend requirements. Urgent Care and Acute are open Monday-Friday, 7:30am-7:00pm, and Saturday-Sunday, 8:30am-4:00pm. Duties include but are not limited to: Prepare patients for clinician office visit: greet and escort patient to exam room, obtain vitals, update medications and allergies in the electronic medical record. Explain procedures appropriate to visit. Draw blood for laboratory specimens according to protocol as needed. Assist the clinician with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Demonstrate ability to perform and assist with clinical procedures. Provide direct patient care as ordered. Accurately administer medications. Responsible to float through the organization based on the need of the organization and skill set the CMA has been signed off on to perform. Document accurately in all areas of the electronic medical record. Promote wellness by providing patient educational materials, communicating clinicians' advice and instructions to the patient and/or family and assess the patient and/or family understanding of the instructions and information. Communicate to patient test results and return phone calls in a timely manner. Coordinate patient care by triaging patient phone calls regarding urgency of appointments, communicating with clinicians and scheduling hospital admissions and testing under clinician orders. Education/Experience/Skills: Must be a graduate from an accredited medical assistant program or school of nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses. Must be a certified Medical Assistant, LPN or RN with an active certification/license to practice in the state of Iowa. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
