Your opportunity: The Centre for Medicinal Chemistry integrates a national network of leading health care institutions and researchers in its focus on developing cancer therapeutics from initial computational design right through to definitive animal trials. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, Patrick Gunning, the incumbent works as a member of the Gunning group by supporting research that works to develop lead compounds that have the potential to be turned into cancer-fighting drugs. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be an integral part of the team in constructing proof of concept experiments, such HPLC purification experiments, and providing expertise and training to graduate students and post-doctorates on the operation, maintenance and repair of complex instrumentation, such as Biotage isolera purification systems. Your responsibilities will include: Constructing proof of concept experiments to test different elements of the process. Collecting experimental data, verifying results.
